Antique Two Wheel Fire Hose Cart made of cast iron. A super cool piece of early 20th century. This antique hand cart has 50 feet of antique hose (double cotton jacket/rubber lined) with brass fittings made by The Wooten Brass Co. And fittings are marked B. Reel measures 20" with 8" handle.

These fire carts have a rich history of competitions and Hose Cart Races. Early fires in America were fought with bucket brigades, often ones that included all able-bodied men, women, and children. Soon, the "race was on" to not only FIGHT fire, but to beat out those hose cart teams for the fastest time! Nice piece for a collector.
