Vtg M. Greenberg's Sons SF Wharf Los Angeles County Fire Hydrant LA Co FD Dept
Greenberg's Sons San Francisco likely iron (could be brass or bronze but looks cast iron) Wharf Fire Hydrant with LA Co FD cast lettering for Los Angeles County Fire Department. The firefighter, Thomas Pimm, who's estate this hydrant came from, worked at Stations 45 (Lakewood, CA), 46 (San Pedro, CA), 141 (San Dimas, CA) and was employed with the LA County Fire Department up through the 1980's. The wharf hydrant is in excellent condition and weighs 25 lbs and is 13-3/4" tall x 5-3/8" diameter at base and has a dye stamping of CY 62 in one location and CY 16 in another area. Pages from a 1952 M. It looks to me that this hydrant is likely the 113 Iron Body model though I could be wrong.
